Current Position

Backend Software Developer | Jivasoft

Feb 2024 - Current

Design, build, and maintain backend systems for a first-responder scheduling platform — the first in production to unite extra-duty and on-duty scheduling in a single system — as a core contributor to its rebuild from legacy .NET into Go and SQL Server.

  • Built workflows serving every side of the platform, including officer-facing tools for finding, working, and getting paid for jobs; supervisor tooling for scheduling, staffing, and event coordination; and administrative workflows governing positions, assignments, and time-off.
  • Delivered 15+ production workflows relied on by on-duty and extra-duty officers, including ten workflows shipped together in a single production release.
  • Modernized legacy scheduling functionality by tracing existing .NET behavior, redesigning backend workflows, and integrating new Go and SQL Server implementations into a shared platform.
  • Collaborated across engineering and product teams to design, debug, test, and deliver production features for mission-critical public-safety scheduling workflows.

Tech Stack: Go, MSSQL / SQL Server, React, .NET

Featured Projects

  • Combined Scheduler & Action Items: Built the officer's combined schedule for assigned and upcoming jobs with per-job actions for viewing details, transferring jobs, and submitting cancellations under agency-configured policies.
  • Available Jobs: Developed the browse-and-search workflow for open job assignments with map locations, date filtering, agency-local times, self-assign vs. request behavior, multi-slot requests, and agency-configured "request all" functionality.
  • Split Job: Designed and delivered a CRUD workflow allowing officers to divide jobs into sequential time segments and transfer portions to other officers, with agency-specific limits, multi-officer support, session-backed edits, and segment-level validation.
  • Check-In / Check-Out: Built the officer time-verification workflow for checking in and out, answering agency-configured questions, correcting submitted hours within defined windows, and handling no-shows and canceled-with-minimum scenarios.
  • Job History: Delivered the officer work-history experience showing scheduled and verified times, paid hours, compensation, and status while ensuring unverified work remains visible until resolved.
  • Event Management: Built supervisor scheduling tools for managing multi-job events, including event creation, editing, cloning, job lists, rosters, officer messaging, and direct officer assignment.
  • Admin Scheduling Suite: Developed administrative workflows for position management, qualification requirements, permanent assignments, rank validation, priority ordering, time-off restrictions, and employee leave-balance checks.

AI-Assisted Engineering

Fullstack Labs: Agentic Engineering | Claude Code | Hypr Framework

Completed company-sponsored AI engineering training focused on integrating coding agents into real-world software development workflows, with concepts applied directly to production work and full-stack projects.

  • Agentic Engineering: Completed an 18-module curriculum covering structured prompting, context engineering, agentic workflows, guardrails, brownfield development, testing, debugging, and verification.
  • Claude Code: Completed a 16-module specialization focused on CLAUDE.md, Plan Mode, custom agents and subagents, worktrees, permissions, hooks, and context management.
  • Agent Development: Trained in analyzing existing codebases, identifying architectural patterns, and generating specialized agents tailored to repository conventions.
  • Production Application: Applied AI-assisted engineering techniques to live production work involving Go, MSSQL, legacy .NET systems, feature development, debugging, and brownfield modernization.
  • Verification-First Development: Use AI to accelerate exploration and implementation while retaining developer ownership of architecture, testing, code review, and final verification.

Core Workflow: Context → Plan → Implement → Review → Verify
